MoT Type 1 is a crushed material usually made with a mix of sand and aggregates, mostly either granite or limestone. These materials combined with the size of the product (usually 0-40mm) makes it extremely strong and hardwearing once it has been compacted. Due to this, MoT Type 1 is usually used as a sub-base to create a stable surface for roads and pathways, along with its attributes that make it ideal for levelling, filling and support.
