Description

Flexible MDF Sheets 6mm | Cross Grain

This high quality Flexible 6 mm MDF Board is an extremely versatile product that can be used for covering surfaces that have difficult curves and shapes that is impossible to achieve with standard MDF. This includes wavy walls, shop fittings, pillars, arches plus bathroom and kitchen fixtures. These are ready to customise with paint and veneers to create a unique and cohesive style to your fixtures. Our Flexible MDF is FSC Certified, making it a responsibly sourced and manufactured material and we can cut these sheets to any size you require.

This particular style of Flexible MDF features a cross grain design, meaning that the grain pattern goes across the sheet and the short edge of the sheet bends to join with the short edge. We also supply Flexible MDF board in a long grain format and in a thickness of 6mm and a range of sizes.

Cross Grain

It is often used for school projects because of its flexibility. Another place it is used is in the shopfitting industry. Flexible MDF is usually used for indoor applications because of its poor moisture resistance.

MDF is generally cheaper than plywood and the surface of the MDF is much smoother, so it’s easier to paint plus you won’t get any splinters.

The difference between long and cross-grain is the direction that the board bends. long-grain is vertical and cross-grain is horizontal.
