OSB Board | 11mm – Product Video

Specifications

Our 11mm OSB (Oriented Strand Board) is produced from softwood flakes and strips which after coating with adhesive resin are laid in specific orientations and hot pressed to produce a structural panel. OSB can be used for both flat and pitched roofing projects and works well for sheathing in walls. The BBA classification permits use in a wide range of applications such as roofing and flooring in both commercial and domestic situations.
The beneficial properties of the OSB Board include excellent load bearing capabilities, along with being adaptable to sawing, drilling, sanding and many more. OSB is stronger and can be more cost effective than other materials such as Plywood. As well as this, the OSB/3 boards, can withstand more conditions, such as high humidity, a feature specific to this particular type of OSB.

Our OSB Boards are available in thicknesses of 9mm, 11mm and 18mm and in a variety of sizes.

Standard Sheet Sizes:

OSB Board

OSB is engineered to resist water and has a smooth finish so applying plaster can be tough. With the preparation of roofing paper and wire mesh, the plaster will adhere to walls.

OSB board contains formaldehyde-based waterproof resin called phenol-formaldehyde. Acute exposure is irritating to the eyes, nose and throat. Heavy exposure can cause allergic reactions of the eyes, skin and respiratory tract.

OSB board is mainly used for floor, walls and roof sheathing.

OSB comes in a variety of thicknesses, starting from 6mm all the way up to 28mm.

A wood preserver is a good choice as it helps to repel the water.

No, you cannot use OSB board outside it is not water or moisture resistant.

One disadvantage is that it is not moisture resistant so if in contact with moist or humid conditions, it will expand.

Our 18mm OSB (Oriented Strand Board) is produced from softwood flakes and strips which after coating with adhesive resin are laid in specific orientations and hot pressed to produce a structural panel. OSB can be used for both flat and pitched roofing projects and works well for sheathing in walls.
