Isover Cavity Wall Insulation | 75mm
Isover Cavity Wall Insulation is slabs of silicone impregnated glass mineral wool that provide thermal insulation in masonry cavity walls in full-fill applications. This product is suitable for a number of domestic and commercial applications, including multi-storey projects.
The insulation covers all durability concerns, including being non-combustible, resistant to weather in all exposure zones and the product does not age. As well as this, it is extremely lightweight, along with being easy to cut and install, making this one time job a much more efficient one.
This particular insulation is not only extremely durable, but is manufactured in such a way to provide a much more energy efficient and eco-friendly construction. If this insulation is applied to the home, it is possible to save up to £150 a year on energy costs, even if exterior cavity walls are insulated, as it stops heat escaping from the interior to the exterior walls. As well as trapping heat inside, the insulation also maintains temperature much better than standard insulation. As for environmental efficiency, the slabs themselves are made from 86% recycled glass, this makes them credited with having zero Ozone Depletion Potential and zero Global Warming Potential.
The Isover Cavity Wall Insulation is available in a variety of thicknesses:
Can cavity wall insulating be topped up?
Yes, in some cases it may be possible to top up the cavity wall insulation because it can shrink over time and may become less effective.
How does cavity wall insulation work?
It works by filling the gap in-between the outer wall and the inner wall. It stops heat loss in your home by keeping air trapped within the cavity.
What are the disadvantages of cavity wall insulation?
If moisture gets into the insulation its ability to keep the house insulated and warm is diminished.
Can you install cavity wall insulation yourself?
Yes, you can but it will be a lot of work and planning. It is recommended to get an expert to do it because mistakes can cost a lot of money to rectify.
How is cavity wall insulation installed?
Cavity wall insulation is installed by drilling holes into the side of a building. The insulation is then injected into the wall.
What is cavity wall insulation made of?
Cavity wall insulation is made of mineral wool.
Is cavity wall insulation hazardous?
No, it is classed as an irritant because it can irritate your eyes and skin, making them very itchy.
Is cavity wall insulation flammable?
Cavity wall insulation can be highly flammable, but because of advances in the production of insulation, it’s fire retardant with a melting point of 1093 degrees C.
Does cavity wall insulation cause damp?
Cavity wall insulation can cause dampness if installed incorrectly.
Is it worth getting cavity wall insulation?
Yes, it is definitely worth it. After it has been installed you will save energy and cut the cost of your heating bill.
