Frequently Asked Questions
What are the Corrugated Roofing Screws 50mm designed for?
These screws are made to fix corrugated roofing panels (metal or plastic) securely into underlying timber or metal purlins.
Why choose 50mm length?
The 50mm length is suitable for standard corrugated roof sheets and typical purlin depths, providing a firm anchorage.
Are the screws coated to prevent rust?
Yes — quality corrugated roofing screws will be zinc or zinc-aluminium coated to resist rust and outdoor weathering.
What head type is used for these screws?
Most have a washered hex head or tech-head with an integrated rubber seal to ensure waterproofing and secure fit.
Can I use these screws with plastic corrugated panels as well as metal?
Yes — they can fix both metal and plastic roofing sheets, provided the panel manufacturer permits it and you use appropriate sealing washers.
What tools do I need to install Corrugated Roofing Screws 50mm?
A screwdriver or drill with the correct hex bit, pre-drill if needed, and ensure the panel remains flat during fixation.
How far apart should I place the screws on corrugated sheets?
Typically every 300-400mm along each side and around perimeter as per roof sheet manufacturer’s guidance.
Are these screws suitable for high wind areas?
Yes — when correctly installed, properly spaced and with good substrate support, they help maintain weather integrity in windy conditions.
Can I reuse these screws if I remove roofing sheets?
It’s better to use new screws each time, as washers and threads may degrade once removed.
Why use Corrugated Roofing Screws 50mm rather than standard wood screws?
Because they are specially designed for roofing panels, with sealing washers, correct length, and corrosion-resistant finish to ensure long-term durability.
